Job Title: Qualified Counsellor (BACP Accredited/working towards BACP

accreditation)

Location: The Haven, Victoria Road, Hartlepool

Contract Type: 6 months fixed term/6-8 hours per week

Salary: £13.00 per hour (monthly clinical supervision costs met by employer)

Closing Date: Monday 2 nd February 2026

Start Date: As soon as possible

About Us

The Haven is a registered Charity in Hartlepool working with young people aged

11–25 years. Our team is committed to creating a safe, inclusive space where

young people can explore their feelings, build resilience, and thrive. We’re looking for

a qualified counsellor to join our growing service.

The Role

Working to the BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions and The

Haven’s policies and procedures, you will provide one-to-one, face-to-face, weekly

counselling to young people experiencing a range of emotional challenges -

including anxiety, low mood, identity issues, family conflict, and school-related stress.

Essential Criteria

• Diploma in Counselling (Level 4 or above)/Foundation degree (FdA) in

  Counselling (Level 5)

• Currently on the BACP Register and working towards BACP accreditation

• Minimum 1-year post-qualification experience.
