Prestige Care Group Visits The Haven to Celebrate Partnership Supporting Young People’s Mental Health

Representatives from Prestige Care Group recently visited The Haven, on Victoria Road, Hartlepool, to see first-hand the impact of their support for young people accessing free counselling services across the town.

Lynn Maddison, Chief Operating Officer, and John O’Donnell, Chief Finance Officer, met with Project Coordinator Dawn Grover and counsellors John Reid and Debra Riddle during their visit to the charity. Prestige Care Group has funded both counselling positions for six months, helping to ensure that young people aged 11 to 25 can continue to access vital mental health support free of charge.

The Haven provides a safe and welcoming environment for young people facing a range of emotional and mental health challenges. Through professional counselling and support services, the charity helps young people build resilience, improve wellbeing and navigate difficult periods in their lives.

During the visit, Lynn and John learned more about the growing demand for counselling services and the positive outcomes being achieved through the work of the counselling team. They also discussed the challenges facing young people today and the importance of accessible mental and emotional health support within local communities.

Dawn Grover, Project Coordinator at The Haven, said:

"We are incredibly grateful to Prestige Care Group for their generous support. Funding the roles of John and Debra has enabled us to reduce waiting times for our counselling services to many young people who may otherwise have struggled to access the help they need. Partnerships like this make a real difference to the lives of young people in Hartlepool."

Lynn Maddison, Chief Operating Officer at Prestige Care Group, said:

"It was inspiring to visit The Haven and see the dedication of the team and the impact their work is having. Supporting young people's mental and emotional health is something we feel strongly about, and we are proud to help fund these counselling roles. The support being provided here is changing lives and strengthening the community."

John O’Donnell, Chief Finance Officer at Prestige Care Group, added:

"Meeting Dawn, John and Debra and hearing about the difference they make every day reinforced why this partnership is so important. We are delighted to support The Haven and the invaluable services they provide to young people across Hartlepool."
